Caitlin Gezgin is a second-year J.D. student at the University of Arkansas School of Law. Originally from Jonesboro, Arkansas, she graduated magna cum laude from Arkansas State University in 2008 with a B.A. in Philosophy. After graduation, she worked as a paralegal for two years at Marshall & Owens, P.A., a creditor representation firm in Jonesboro, before deciding to go on to law school. She currently works as a law clerk for Elliott & Smith, P.A. in Fayetteville, a personal injury and medical malpractice firm. She is also the teaching assistant for Professor Robert B. Leflar's first-year torts class. This past fall, she and her competition partner won the William H. Sutton Barristers' Union Trial Competition and they will both be competing as the school's 2L traveling team for the ABA's 2011-2012 National Appellate Advocacy Competition. She is also currently the president of her school's Student Animal Legal Defense Fund. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering at her local animal shelter and playing with her dogs, Junior and Grace.
