Dr. Debabrata Biswas, Assistant Professor of Food Safety, University of  Maryland,  has 15 years of experiences in host-bacteria interactions specifically foodborne bacterial colonization in animal reservoir and control of foodborne diseases. Dr. Biswas is committed to develop crosscutting research programs in pre- and post-harvest food and food processing environmental safety area. In recent years, he has initiated several research projects on bacteriology specifically host-foodborne bacteria interactions and their sources with the researchers from Food Science, Biological Engineering, and Animal Sciences. He is also very active in different outreach activities such as training and mentoring students.
